This position requires a teacher with a Bachelor's degree and valid Oklahoma certification in the subject area taught. The teacher must meet Oklahoma State Department of Education and Federal standards for a qualified teacher. Skills include reading, analyzing, and interpreting written information, writing required reports and correspondence, presenting information orally, working with mathematical concepts, solving practical problems, interpreting instructions, and possessing technological literacy.
Knowledge of special education laws, policies, and procedures is essential.
The teacher will teach district approved curriculum, establish clear objectives for lessons, participate in collaborative planning and instruction, ensure student mastery of district objectives, engage in professional development, maintain accurate records, protect students and facilities, create a conducive learning environment, develop differentiated lesson plans, communicate with parents, perform assigned duties, and attend required meetings. The teacher must project a professional image, handle problematic situations professionally, and meet attendance expectations of at least 95%.
The position involves primarily inside working conditions with some exposure to extreme environmental conditions and requires physical standards including sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and moving throughout classrooms and instructional areas.
