General Description:

Metro Technology Centers is accepting applications for Career Training Navigator who will be responsible for the recruitment, advisement, guidance, and enrollment of adults who are seeking training for employment. Promotes short-term and full-time vocational training classes and programs to adults wanting self-sufficiency through gainful employment. Also, responsible for building and maintaining relationships with external partners, including governmental agencies.

General Qualification Requirements:

Education/

Experience:

Bachelor s degree in Social Work, Workforce Development, Human Resource Management, Education or related preferred.

Three (3) years of related experience in working with Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Oklahoma Work Ready or Career Technology Centers is preferred.

Representative Duties:

* Adhere to Career Tech and governmental agencies regulations and requirements as it relates to student records, data, filing reports, and program spending.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with governmental agencies, organizations and community businesses.

* Work with Metro Tech District personnel to identify and/or develop at least three Career Pathway options and potential full-time training opportunities for potential students to enroll.

* Market, recruit, and enroll adult students in short-term and/or full-time training opportunities.

* Actively participate in Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education, Oklahoma Department of Human Services, and Oklahoma Work Ready-related meetings, district required meetings and professional development.

* Manage and function within the federal and state program budget.

* Assist students with employability as needed by assessing skills level and providing resources and an individualized plan to advance that skill level while assisting with job placement.

* Work with local businesses to identify workforce needs and act as a liaison for businesses looking to collaborate with Metro Tech.

* Provides support, encouragement, and advisement to students with academic and life challenges, and recommends additional resources, as necessary.

* Communicates regularly with participants, case workers, service/educational providers, Work Ready Oklahoma, and administration regarding participant progress and/or needs.

* Conducts follow-up communications with participants to monitor progress and address concerns.

* Works closely with AEFL program coordinator to support student needs and data and testing requirements.

* Plans and conducts advisory committee meetings at least semi-annually to ensure that all training is relevant and current; utilizing a committee which has been approved by District and/or Site Director.

* Adheres to a designated work schedule and can work extended hours and additional days/evenings as required by position responsibilities.

* Supports and promotes the continuous improvement model of the district.

* Recommends innovative approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continuous improvements in services to customers.

* Participates and cooperates in the development of the individual program and the quality of education of the district.

* Upholds the policies and procedures of the Board of Education and supports the organizational management philosophy of the district; works cooperatively and in harmony with co-workers and other District employees.

* Demonstrates dedication to working with individuals in an objective and fair manner regardless of handicap, race sex, national origin, age, or socio-economic background and follows the standards of conduct and performance as adopted by the State Board of Education and Metro Tech Board of Education

* Performs any duties required by the administration or Board of Education, determined by the position s expectations.
