Substitute Teacher

Position Overview

The Substitute Teacher at Crutcho Public School provides instructional continuity and classroom leadership across elementary (PK-5) or middle school (6-8) grades. Working within the district's 5-day school week schedule, the substitute follows pre-determined lesson plans, maintains a safe and disciplined learning environment, and manages standard classroom behaviors.

• Grade-Level Flexibility:Transition smoothly between elementary and middle school classrooms based on daily campus coverage needs.
• Lesson Execution:Deliver standard elementary subjects or specialized middle school course content exactly as mapped out by the absent teacher.
• Classroom Management:Maintain order, encourage participation, and enforce the rules outlined in the district's handbook.
• Campus Supervision:Supervise students during typical daily routines, including morning arrival, cafeteria lunch periods, and afternoon dismissal.
• Documentation:Record accurate student attendance and prepare a structured summary report detailing student behavior and lesson progress for the permanent teacher.

• Education:Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
• Age:Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Background Clearance:Must complete a comprehensive fingerprinting and criminal background check.

• Schedule:Daily operations align with a 5-day instructional work week.
• Campus Setting:The substitute will serve a tight-knit, single-campus community of pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade students in the Oklahoma City area.
