The most respectful thing you can do for a student who scored 99% is tell them they haven't passed yet.
Not because perfection is the goal. Because believing someone can reach higher is one of the most profound forms of respect.
Most schools shield students from failure. Alpha prepares them for achievement. We believe confidence isn't cultivated by lowering standards. It's cultivated by guiding students to accomplish what they once considered impossible. That conviction informs everything we do.
Our approach is intentionally different. Students master academic content independently through AI-powered learning, which frees adults to focus on the work that transforms lives: coaching character, cultivating resilience, developing leadership, and instilling the habits that produce exceptional outcomes. We don't need adults to transmit information. We need leaders who understand how to draw out the best in people.
This position is central to that mission. You'll develop the Guides who work directly with students, helping them become outstanding coaches rather than traditional instructors. You'll facilitate life skills workshops that students will recall years later. You'll analyze performance data to identify where students or Guides are underperforming and coach them back to excellence. You'll also lead your own student cohort, ensuring the expectations you set are the expectations you demonstrate.
The impact is substantial. Each Guide you coach influences dozens of students. Every enhancement you make to your campus culture multiplies across hundreds of young lives. Success isn't measured by meetings attended or reports generated. It's measured by whether students become more confident, more disciplined, more resilient, and more capable because of the environment you helped create.
This isn't a position for someone who wants to maintain the status quo in education. It's for someone who believes young people deserve more than compliance, seat time, and mediocre expectations. If you're motivated by coaching people through significant challenges, leveraging data to inform better decisions, and maintaining high standards because you genuinely believe others can meet them, you'll excel here.
WhatYou Will Be Doing
- Develop and coach Guides to execute Alpha's coaching model with consistency, intensity, and uncompromising standards.
- Facilitate engaging life skills workshops on communication, focus, feedback, leadership, and resilience for K-8 students using established playbooks.
- Analyze student and Guide performance data to identify coaching opportunities, eliminate obstacles, and drive measurable improvements weekly.
- Conduct motivation sessions that empower every student to embrace ambitious goals and consistently reach them.
- Lead your own student cohort while exemplifying the coaching excellence and accountability you expect from all Guides.
- Teaching academic content. Students master core academics independently through AI-powered learning platforms.
- Developing lesson plans or designing curriculum. Your focus is exceptional coaching, not creating instructional resources.
- Managing classrooms through lectures, worksheets, or behavior management systems. Students drive their own learning, and you coach the habits that enable success.
- Reducing expectations to sidestep challenging conversations. High standards and authentic belief in every student's potential are inseparable.
- Measuring success by activity rather than outcomes. Results matter more than effort alone.
