Parent Liaison

The Parent Liaison serves as the school liaison between parents, teachers, and administrators to implement and manage school-wide initiatives and activities to eliminate barriers to education and encourage parents to become positive active participants in their children's education.

Essential Performance Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze student attendance to identify resources to increase performance.
  • Monitor and track student progress, and adjust support strategies as needed.
  • Coordinates learning opportunities/workshops for parents at flexible times.
  • Provides information to parents that include educational opportunities and resources in their areas and applicable local and state policies that will influence their education.
  • Collaborate with community agencies and resources to provide additional support and resources for students and families.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in student support.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events as necessary.
  • Provide reports to school administration and district leaders on parent support services and outcomes.
  • Assists the school with gathering data regarding student academic progress and teacher support.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the school administration.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in education or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with elementary school-age children in an educational or counseling setting.
  • Knowledge of family support services and best practices in family support.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and community partners.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
