TRIO Program Coordinator - EOC/GRIT

This position coordinates the development and implementation of a recruitment plan designed to annually assist adult participants to apply and enroll into the College; develops outreach marketing materials; promotes the GRIT Program and services to diverse communities; develops partnerships with not-for-profit, public, and private sector entities; and assists in the planning, assessing, recruiting, monitoring, and managing of student enrollment and placement activities.

This appointment is contingent upon availability of grant funding. Once the funds from the grant that provide funding for this appointment are no longer available, this appointment may be terminated without cause upon written notice to the employee.

Minimum Education /

Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Guidance Counseling, Educational Counseling, Social Work, Career Development, or a related field. Minimum (2) years' experience working with low-income, first-generation populations and/or persons who are similarly disadvantaged.

Physical Demands/

Working Conditions:

The work is light work which requires the person in this position to occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
This position requires the person to frequently move about the OCCC campus and offsite outreach locations. This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to administration, faculty, staff, students, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations. This position requires the person to frequently remain in a standing and stationary position.

This position requires the person to frequently operate a computer, other office machinery, and mobile devices to perform the essential functions of the position. This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. This position requires the person to perceive attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.

This position requires the person to judge, observe, and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations. Work is performed in an indoor, office setting. Work is performed in a relatively safe, secure, and stable work environment. Work is performed during office hours including off-campus sites; works evenings and weekends as needed; and travel is required.

Bilingual (Spanish/English)

Required Training:
Quarterly compliance training as assigned by institution.

Work Hours:

Monday through Friday; 8:00am to 5:00pm, with some evenings & weekends during peak periods.
