Diversion Hub is seeking a compassionate, organized, and engaging Peer Development Facilitator to coordinate and facilitate educational and skill-building classes for individuals involved in the criminal legal system. This full-time position is responsible for facilitating classes within the Oklahoma County Detention Center, covering topics such as Anger Management, Positive Thinking, Parenting, and other evidence-informed curricula designed to support personal growth and long-term success.
The Peer Development Facilitator will use their lived experience and Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) training to foster meaningful engagement, encourage participant growth, and create a supportive learning environment. This position also plays a critical role in maintaining accurate attendance records and providing timely documentation to courts and other referring agencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Facilitate educational and skill-building classes for participants within the Oklahoma County Detention Center and at the Diversion Hub office as needed.
- Develop, adapt, and maintain class curriculum and instructional materials that support participant success and align with Diversion Hub programming.
- Create a welcoming, respectful, and recovery-oriented learning environment that promotes participant engagement and accountability.
- Utilize effective group facilitation techniques to encourage participation, discussion, and skill development.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learning styles and participant populations.
- Maintain accurate class rosters, attendance records, and participant documentation.
- Submit attendance verification and other required documentation to courts, referral partners, and internal staff in a timely and accurate manner.
- Track participant progress and ensure documentation complies with agency and court requirements.
- Assist with evaluating program effectiveness and updating curriculum based on participant feedback and program needs.
- Collaborate with Diversion Hub staff and community partners to ensure coordinated service delivery.
- Facilitate programming within the Oklahoma County Detention Center while adhering to all facility policies and security procedures.
- Develop positive working relationships with court personnel, detention center staff, and community partners.
- Represent Diversion Hub professionally in community and correctional settings.
- Maintain all required credentials and security clearances necessary to provide programming within correctional facilities.

- Excellent public speaking and group facilitation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to engage, motivate, and build rapport with justice-involved individuals.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately maintain attendance records and complete required documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, recovery principles, and motivational interviewing techniques is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current Oklahoma Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) Certification or willingness to obtain certification within an established timeframe.
- Experience facilitating groups, classes, workshops, or educational programming preferred.
- Experience working with justice-involved individuals, behavioral health populations, or community-based organizations preferred.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel between Diversion Hub locations and community sites as needed.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearance necessary to facilitate programming within the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Behavioral Health, Criminal Justice, Education, or a related field.
- Experience facilitating cognitive-behavioral, life skills, parenting, anger management, or recovery-focused curricula.
- Experience working in correctional, diversion, or treatment court settings.
- Ability to stand and facilitate classes for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and transport class materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to operate a computer and other standard office equipment.
