The Department Chair assists the Dean in overseeing College of Nursing faculty in order to meet the tripartite mission of the college including teaching, research and creative/scholarly activity and professional and University service and public outreach. The Department Chair is responsible for oversight of promotion processes, faculty development programs, faculty recruitment and retention, faculty evaluation, faculty personnel actions, faculty governance, and initiatives pertaining to the faculty well-being for all campus sites.
The Department Chair is a key member of the Dean’s leadership team and will provide strategic insight and assist the Dean in setting college goals. The Department Chair will also foster and maintain positive relationships with College and University leadership and community stakeholders including OUH and clinical site partners. Critical to the Chairperson’s success will be their ability to develop and articulate a clear vision and strategy for the department that aligns with the University of Oklahoma’s Lead On, University Strategic Plan.
The Department Chair reports directly to the Dean of the Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing.
This is a full-time, 12-month in-person faculty appointment, Consecutive Term or Tenure-Track eligible, at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a 50% administrative position with faculty appointment commensurate with rank and scholarship.
Min. Qual.- Must be eligible for or hold current registered professional nurse (RN) license for the State of Oklahoma
- Terminal Degree (Preferably in Nursing or Health Related Field)
