About this PositionThe Healthcare Management Adjunct Professor delivers foundational and intermediate coursework within the Associate Degree Healthcare Management program. This role is responsible for teaching foundational core courses, operational management principles, leadership, statistics, human resources, and administrative workflows. The position leverages industry leadership, data analytics, or educational management experience to foster student workforce readiness and deliver rigorous digital learning via Canvas.
Required Qualifications:Education:
Associate or Bachelor Degree and licensure/certification in discipline required (technical program/non-transfer classes).
Experience:
- Must have educational qualifications to teach in subject area or have documented specialty education/experience to meet tested experience requirements, as per the Higher Learning Commission’s publication on Determining Qualified Faculty and provide leadership in an academic discipline and/or degree program.
- A minimum of two (2) years of full-time leadership, administrative, human resources, or operational management experience in an educational, public sector, clinical, or organizational setting.
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
- Professional familiarity with healthcare delivery concepts, medical office leadership, human resources, or health‑adjacent administrative frameworks.
- Teaching Competence – Must be able to create lesson plans, content, presentations, ancillary materials, and assignments to effectively transform information to knowledge for students; have the ability to assess student learning and progress.
- Communication skills – Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with clear, grammatically correct English; requires interaction with supervisors, colleagues, students, alumni, advisory committee members, and the public, using tact, discretion, and independent judgment.
- Computer skills – Must be demonstrably proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel), as well as e-mail and internet, and learning management systems.
- Passion for assisting customers and representing the OSU-OKC and OSU brand with positivity and professionalism.
- Demonstrated history of ethical and professional behavior.
Education:
M.Ed., MBA, MHA, MS, or closely related field from an accredited institution (transfer classes)
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
- Technical and Analytics Proficiency:
Demonstrated experience utilizing data analytics/predictive metrics to drive intervention, compliance or organizational performance. - Instructional Technology:
Hands‑on experience designing and managing virtual learning environments or instructional frameworks within an LMS (Canvas preferred). - Experience leading cross‑functional teams, peer coaching, or faculty/staff mentorship.
- Proven track record in program design, operational scaling, and continuous quality improvement.
- Professional familiarity with healthcare delivery concepts, medical office leadership, or health‑adjacent administrative frameworks.
- Translate managerial, organizational, and operational concepts into practical applications to prepare students for entry‑level supervisory and clerical roles.
