General Description

This position is responsible for the administration of the student conduct program. The Student Conduct Resolutions Coordinator ( SCR ) will be responsible for developing standardized correspondence, process, policy, and educational programming. The SCR Coordinator will oversee misconduct case investigations, adjudications, sanction application and monitoring. The SCR Coordinator will also oversee the third-party vendor relationship development and maintenance for sanction engagement and learning development and facilitate consultations with faculty/staff members.

The SCR Coordinator will assist with the Student Conduct Code revision process and with the development and presentation of necessary and related training for faculty/staff members, and attendance to Student Conduct or other necessary and related training in conflict resolutions (virtual and/or in person). The SCR Coordinator shall be responsible for monitoring and reviewing accessible, practical, and reasonable conflict resolution strategy options and methods, and managing the student conduct software platform service.

The SCR Coordinator will also attend to the composition of activity, production, satisfaction and trend assessment reports, per the instruction and guidance of the Associate Vice President for Student Success.

What position(s) reports to this position?

Interns

Bachelors degree in Communications, Sociology, Human Relations, Public Relations or a related field
Minimum (2) years’ professional full-time work experience in a higher education environment in one or more of the following areas:
Student Conduct, Student Development, Student Organizations Advisor, Housing/Residence Life or Student Academic Advising.
Minimum (2) years’ directly related professional student affairs experience including knowledge of student development theory and student conduct processes, and applicable laws such as Clery Act, Title IX, 1st Amendment Rights (Freedom of Speech), and the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act ( FERPA )

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of conflict resolution methods, including mediation, negotiation, and facilitation technique
Knowledge of restorative justice practices, including their application in educational settings
Familiarity with institutional policies, student codes of conduct, and legal requirements (e.g., FERPA , Title IX) that govern student behavior and right
Knowledge of ethical standards in handling student conflicts and maintaining confidentiality
Knowledge of student support services and their role in fostering student development
Understanding of diverse student populations and the impact of cultural, social, and economic factors on conflict and resolution
Basic understanding of mental health issues and referral processes for students in crisis or distress

Skills:
Good public speaking skills
Skilled and organized note-taker
Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with students, faculty, and staff in a clear, compassionate, and effective manner
Active listening skills to fully understand different perspectives and concerns
Skilled in remaining neutral, de-escalating tensions, and fostering constructive dialogue between conflicting parties
