POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Alumni Relations is responsible for building and strengthening Hope Center Ministries’ relationship with its growing community of alumni. As a graduate of the Hope Center Ministries program, the Director of Alumni Relations brings firsthand experience and a deep understanding of the transformational journey HCM alumni have experienced.

This role serves as a primary connection point between Hope Center Ministries and its alumni community, creating meaningful opportunities for alumni to remain connected, serve, give, lead, and continue advancing the mission of HCM.

The Director of Alumni Relations will develop and execute strategies for alumni engagement, communications, fundraising, mentorship, and special events, including the annual HCM Galas and other HCM fundraising events. The position will cultivate a strong alumni network that celebrates transformation, encourages continued involvement, and invites alumni to invest their time, talents, testimony, and resources into the future of Hope Center Ministries.

The Director of Alumni Relations will work closely with leaders across Hope Center Ministries, including Development, Marketing & Communications, Admissions, Campus Leadership, Ministry Leadership, Finance, and Executive Leadership.

As a minister of the gospel, the Director of Alumni Affairs is responsible for facilitating marriages, communion, baptisms and funerals as those opportunities present themselves, serving the spiritual needs of individuals and communities through these important moments of life and faith.

The role will ensure that alumni engagement supports HCM's broader organizational goals while maintaining an authentic, relationship-centered approach to alumni connection.

Primary Duties

Alumni Engagement & Relationship Management

• Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with HCM alumni across the organization’s alumni network.
• Develop a process to capture upcoming graduate data to build the alumni network.
• Create a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy designed to keep graduates connected to HCM and one another.
• Establish opportunities for alumni to remain involved through volunteering, mentorship, events, service opportunities, fundraising, storytelling, and ministry engagement.
• Maintain accurate alumni records and engagement information in HCM’s designated systems using CRM.
• Prepare monthly metrics reports for executive leadership.
• Identify highly engaged alumni who may serve as ambassadors, volunteers, mentors, donors, speakers, or advocates for HCM.
• Regularly communicate with alumni to celebrate milestones, share ministry updates, provide opportunities for involvement, and strengthen their connection to HCM.
• Develop alumni recognition initiatives that celebrate graduates and their continued impact in their communities.
• Develop and execute an alumni giving strategy that encourages graduates to financially support the mission of Hope Center Ministries.
• Build a culture of generosity among alumni by helping graduates understand the ongoing impact of their investment in HCM.
• Identify and cultivate alumni who have the capacity and desire to become recurring, major, or legacy donors.
• Coordinate alumni-focused fundraising campaigns, giving initiatives, and peer-to-peer fundraising opportunities.
• Partner with the Development team to support broader HCM fundraising objectives.
• Equip alumni with resources and messaging to serve as advocates and fundraising ambassadors for HCM.
