Responsibilities- Leads the development and implementation of advanced techniques for complex gas and oil balancing issues while providing guidance to junior professionals.
- Communicates and collaborates with regulatory bodies such as the BLM, Texas RRC, NDIC, and NMAC to ensure compliance with measurement standards and regulations, fostering positive relationships and facilitating smooth interactions.
- Coordinates development, review, and distribution of various analytical data and reports necessary to validate the accuracy of measurement data, providing insights to inform decision-making processes.
- Works closely with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, field operations personnel, and measurement technicians to facilitate reliable data collection for volume verification and allocation purposes.
- Leads data gathering and integration efforts, creating tools for quality checks, and providing mentorship on complex measurement data systems.
- Demonstrates proficiency in troubleshooting complex gas and oil balancing issues employing analytical skills to identify root cause and implement effective solutions.
- Provides input to measurement vendors, engineers, and marketers to establish and enforce effective measurement standards, ensuring consistency and accuracy in measurement practices.
- Collaborates with various engineering groups to advise on appropriate measurement equipment selection, including considerations of fit-for-purpose, sizing, and maintenance requirements, optimizing operational performance and reliability.
- Leads and completes strategic, concurrent projects involving multiple functional areas, demonstrating expertise in technical principles, theories, and concepts.
- Serves as a technical expert and mentor, providing recommendations, software training, and support, and initiates and drives continuous improvement efforts, influencing measurement-specific improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in any other related discipline required
- 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably in E&P Operations, specializing in areas such as Field Operations Measurement and Measurement Standards or a related field. Industry experience is preferred.
- General knowledge of FLOWCAL, Test-it and SCADA systems is preferred
- A working understanding of electronic flow meters and Remote Terminal Units is a plus
- General understanding in reviewing gas and liquid balance configurations and associated volumetric data preferred.
