The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) organization is seeking a Landing Gear and Hydraulic Systems Design and Analysis Engineer to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, OK .
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced or Lead Level Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
Experienced (Level
3)
* Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment requirements to establish the system design.
* Supports the development, maintenance, or modification of system, component, and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups.
* Performs and documents analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
* Contributes to supplier development, test, and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals.
* Supports system components' designs/proposals standards to provide installation and detail documentation.
* Trains others.
* Works under general direction. Lead (Level
4)
* Lead and provide technical quality review of the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid systems to establish the system design.
* Lead activities to validate and verify mechanical and fluid systems requirements.
* Lead the development, maintenance, or modification of system components' designs/proposals to provide installation and detail documentation.
* Lead technical meetings and planning efforts, presenting technical information to wide range of audiences.
* Manage supplier development, test, and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals.
* Prioritize, delegate, and track performance and documentation of analyses of fluid systems/mechanisms/landing gear/ordnance components and systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the design.
* Support proposal preparation and new business development efforts.
* Train and coach others.
* Work under minimal direction. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
* Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
* 5+ years of experience with mechanical systems.
* 3+ years of experience with hydraulic and/or mechanical control systems.
* 3+ years of experience with basic aerodynamics/fluid mechanics principles.
* 1+ years of experience working conceptual, preliminary and detailed design including 2D drawings and 3D deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
* Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Level 4: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Active U.S. Secret Clearance or higher
* Experience reading and interpreting engineering schematics, and specifications
* Experience performing hydraulic / fluid system analysis, preferably using MATLAB and/or Easy5 software
* 3+ years of experience designing tooling using CAD/CAM software, preferably CATIA
* Experience producing technical reports and presentations
* Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills
* Familiarity with engineering processes and methods
* Experience working with cross functional teams
