Job Overview

Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a Full‑Time Supervisory Physical Scientist/General Engineer (NH‑1301/0801‑03) to work at Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex (OC‑ALC) at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Salary: $89,508 – $138,370 per year (includes locality). Posting open 2/10/2026; closes 2/17/2026. This position is open exclusively to current DoD federal employees.

• Lead a team of environmental engineering professionals.
• Integrate environmental requirements into engineering design reviews, infrastructure planning, and mission execution.
• Develop corrective actions, conduct audits, advise leadership, and oversee contract execution.
• Ensure compliance, cultivate continuous improvement, transparency, and trust.

• Knowledge of advanced multidisciplinary engineering concepts and standards.
• Knowledge of DoD and Air Force functions, budgeting cycles, and financial systems.
• Knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art theory, application, technology, and policy affecting systems.
• Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations.
• Skill in establishing relationships, building consensus, negotiating, and resolving conflicts.
• Ability to plan, organize, direct functions, mentor staff, and adjust operations.

• U.S. citizenship.
• Obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET‑accredited institution in Environmental Engineering or Physical Science.
• DAWIA certification.
• Willingness to travel and work beyond normal duty hours, overtime, and swing shifts.
• Responsibility for work area safety and compliance with safety directives.
• Availability to report during base exercises, contingencies, or emergencies.
