Responsibilities
  • Works with Sales, Marketing, and R&D to develop product requirements based on customer needs
  • Analyzes systems using a variety of engineering tools including, but not limited to, FEA, analytical formulas, benchmark designs, etc.
  • Runs through sizing and optimization exercises for pumps, fans, coils, valves, and flow control devices
  • Is familiar with piping layouts, design, and material selection, including, but not limited to, PVC, Stainless Steel, Copper, HDPE, etc.
  • Uses DFMEA, PFMEA, and DFMA tools to improve the quality and reliability of designs
  • Develops Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Ensures that full and accurate documentation is produced for the designs that are moving into commercialization
  • Works with operations to design solutions that are integrated into the current manufacturing capabilities
  • Develops advanced designs in conjunction with operations to produce high‑quality designs that are value‑based
  • Works with sales and service to improve current designs and incorporates future needs into the existing platform
  • Acts as an example and mentor to more junior mechanical engineers
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager
Qualifications
  • BSME from an accredited university, or applicable engineering work experience
  • 3–5 years of engineering work experience, HVAC preferred
  • CFD, computational fluid dynamics experience preferred
  • Self‑starter and must be able to work cross‑functionally
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Preferred: P.E certification a plus
  • MSME is a plus
  • Solid Works, Draft Sight, AutoCAD, Revit skills
