Senior Software Engineer – Executive Transport Team

Location:

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Position Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of non‑embedded software throughout the full end‑to‑end lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry, customer, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Translate customer and system requirements into initial designs of software products.
  • Coordinate the development, maintenance, enhancement, and optimization of software products and functionalities for system integrations.
  • Develop, document, and maintain architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software products.
  • Debug and lead the resolution of issues to ensure reliability and efficiency of software products.
  • Conduct verification and validation activities (unit, integration, system, regression) and produce certification evidence and safety artifacts.
  • Respond to user inquiries and technical support tickets, incorporate user feedback into prioritized improvements, and evaluate emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes.
  • Establish, monitor, and continuously improve development processes, tool chains, and KPIs to align with organizational objectives and industry benchmarks; plan and execute R&D projects and feasibility studies.
  • Provide domain expertise on software architecture, safety analysis, compliance, and lifecycle practices.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or related fields.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining safety‑critical embedded software across the product lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in translating customer and system requirements into robust, testable software architectures and detailed designs.
  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including requirements traceability, design descriptions, test plans, and release notes.
  • Competency in leading verification and validation activities and producing certification evidence.
  • Experience debugging and resolving defects and field issues to maximize reliability and availability.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes to keep processes current.
  • Experience establishing and improving development processes, tool chains, and KPIs.
  • Capabilities to plan and execute R&D projects and feasibility studies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 9+ years of related work experience or 13+ years directly related experience or 17+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience developing mission systems software architecture.
  • Fluency in UML, SysML, MBSE practice, and Model‑Driven Software Engineering.
  • Ability to translate customer needs into non‑functional requirements/quality attributes and to map those attributes to known software architecture patterns.
  • Skills in managing and trading off multiple concurrent issues, ambiguities, and contradictions in non‑functional requirements.
  • Experience reverse engineering software architecture of legacy code and refactoring it.
  • Background in product‑line development and product‑line software architecture.
Work Conditions
  • Drug‑free workplace requires testing for specified substances when criteria are met.
  • Shift: Primarily 1st shift; alternate shifts may be required.
  • Travel:
    Approximately 10% travel required.
  • Technical assessment (Code Vue Coding Challenge) mandatory for consideration.
