POSITION SUMMARY
The candidate will manage the manufacturing engineering team located in Oklahoma City, OK and oversee the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency. The candidate will employ a balanced combination of advanced analytical techniques, experimental methods and management skills. The candidate will work in the cross-functional team environment and will closely collaborate with the other CCG engineering teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions Statement(s)
• Support execution of overall manufacturing plan and lead technical implementation where appropriate; identify and recommend ways to enhance efficiency, quality and safety
• Convert quality, cost, continuous improvement and process improvement issues into functional ME objectives
• Collaborate with Design Engineering and provide guidance regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
• Research and develop new methodologies, propose new concepts, carry out the research and document the results
• Identify and propose new cost reduction ideas
• Oversee the development of manufacturing product routings
• Develop rough-cut capacity models for manufacturing processes
• Provide leadership in assessing current processes, developing and executing plans that will deliver improvements in safety, quality, and cost through elimination of waste
• Lead team to analyze and isolate the root causes of process issues and implement permanent solutions
• Analyze process controls and capabilities, equipment layout, workflow, assembly methods and work force utilization to maximize efficiency, productivity and quality
• Advise staff on complex technical issues
-provide technical support that addresses process concerns in product developments
• Ability to facilitate and drive change in a fast paced and "ever changing" environment leveraging his/her strong interpersonal skills. Key to success in this position is the ability to work within the
organization at all levels, creating value and buy-in as a key change facilitator helping to drive the company's Lean transformation initiatives
• Support planning and execution of various Lean transformation activities and projects targeted towards improving operational performance and developing a continuous improvement culture
• Maintaining employee safety and morale by creating safe working and efficient working environment
• Coach and mentor employees on the practical application of lean manufacturing, problem solving tools, and efficient working environment
• Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required
Skills & Abilities
Education: Degree in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or other related discipline or equivalent manufacturing and/or engineering experience required. Advanced degree in Engineering is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, preferably in a process-oriented operations and/or related industry required. Minimum 3 years of management experience with a proven record of comprehensive personnel development and training, conflict resolution, root cause analysis, risk assessment and expectation management or 10+ years' experience in managing and improving manufacturing processes required
Computer Skills: Microsoft office tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. AutoCAD
Certificates & Licenses: Lean and/or Six Sigma Black Belt certification is a plus
Other Requirements: Extensive knowledge of operational excellence principles, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (a plus). Formal Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma training required. Strong overall business acumen and a background in process flow. Excellent leadership and change management skills
