Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems invites a Cybersecurity Systems Engineer to join its Systems Engineering organization. The role will assess software and hardware for vulnerabilities, develop automation for cybersecurity processes, investigate complex technical issues, and guide the security architecture and tool selection. The position is contingent on program funding; start dates are determined after funding confirmation.
Responsibilities- Solve complex technical problems involving cybersecurity concepts.
- Assess software static code analysis results.
- Complete Cybersecurity Impact Appraisals/Evaluations on hardware/software projects.
- Generate and maintain appropriate artifacts for Air Force authorization decisions.
- Perform system vulnerability scans using tools such as ACAS and STIGs.
- Perform manual STIG/SRG verifications on various equipment, collecting and evaluating findings.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and at least 2 years of relevant military or professional experience, or Master’s degree in a STEM field with relevant experience.
- Active U.S. Government Secret clearance (or higher) with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years, or currently enrolled in Continuous Evaluation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program clearance within a reasonable time.
- Experience in cybersecurity vulnerability assessments and evaluations.
- Knowledge of NIST 800‑53, NIST 800‑171, NSS/CSA PM 9‑12, and JSIG.
- Program clearance.
- Certifications such as CSSLP, CISSP, CEH, Security+.
- Foundational knowledge of core systems engineering principles: requirements development, allocation, traceability, verification and validation planning, engineering change processes.
- Experience performing cybersecurity impact assessments during design changes, capability upgrades, or baseline reviews.
- Experience with automated STIG tools such as Evaluate STIG or Security Compliance Checker.
- Experience with networking technologies, router and switch configuration, troubleshooting, and vulnerability assessments.
- Active Top Secret clearance.
Primary Level Salary Range: $82,600.00 - $. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and long‑term incentives for higher roles.
