Electrical Engineer

Job Duration: 24-month contract (potential extensions, conversion uncertain)

Hourly Pay: $70–$85/hr (flexible)

Insight Global’s data center client is seeking a highly technical and proactive Electrical Engineer to support large-scale, long-duration infrastructure projects. This individual will act as the technical authority across complex electrical systems, working closely with construction teams and design consultants to drive projects from design through execution.

This role is heavily focused on the design phase—leading reviews, ensuring quality, and providing strategic input across cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate has a strong construction background, deep MEP expertise, and the ability to operate as a thought leader in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

• Act as the technical lead across electrical systems throughout project lifecycle
• Lead design phase efforts including page turns, design reviews, and IFC readiness
• Review RFIs, submittals, and construction documentation for quality and accuracy
• Partner with construction teams, engineers, and consultants to align execution
• Conduct field walks to ensure design intent is executed correctly
• Drive quality control initiatives across electrical scopes
• Provide technical guidance across cross-functional teams
• Support long-duration infrastructure projects in mission-critical environments

• 3–5+ years of experience in project engineering with an electrical focus
• Strong construction background with full project lifecycle exposure
• Expertise in complex electrical systems (substations, distribution, MV switch gear, UPS, etc.)
• Experience reviewing RFIs and submittals
• Ability to lead and influence during design phase (30%–IFC)
• Engineering degree or equivalent hands‑on experience
• Experience in mission‑critical, industrial, semiconductor, power, or data center environments
• Comfortable working cross-functionally and leading technical discussions

• Experience in hyperscale or colocation data centers
• Background in oil & gas, utilities, or large-scale industrial builds
• Exposure to high‑reliability systems and large infrastructure programs
