Overview
This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.
Boeing is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Support Engineering Data Specialist to join our Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) and obsolescence management group. This position will focus on supporting Bombers and Military Commercial Derivative modification and sustainment contracts. The role interprets and analyzes engineering data, reliability and maintainability data, supply chain data, and customer operations and support concepts to develop support solutions and products including support analysis, provisioning solutions, spares solutions and maintenance, inspection, and support technical data.
It provides recommendations on product supportability and establishes operation maintenance tasks and support resources, develops support systems to achieve supportability requirements, identifies and analyzes logistics support candidates from product definition, develops logistics support analysis records and reports, determines spares provisioning requirements and establishes recommendations for spare and replacement parts, levels, and stocking, writes and maintains technical documentation for operating, testing, inspecting and maintaining aircraft systems and/or components, and evaluates aircraft and/or fleet operational performance, reliability, and availability to establish maintenance concepts.
- Establish DMSMS Programs:
Develop and implement comprehensive DMSMS programs to proactively address potential material shortages and obsolescence issues. - Gather Engineering Data:
Collect and analyze engineering data necessary for conducting thorough DMSMS analyses. - Identify DMSMS Risks and Issues:
Monitor and identify risks and issues related to DMSMS that may impact program performance and aircraft readiness. - Evaluate Impact:
Assess the potential impact of identified DMSMS risks and issues on current and future operations. - Develop Recommendations and Roadmaps:
Create actionable recommendations and strategic roadmaps for DMSMS resolution, ensuring alignment with program objectives and stakeholder requirements.
A lot of researching parts/material data on bombers and military aircraft, interfacing with the engineering team and/or supplier management and other product support IPT's. Database and web searches, entering found data into spreadsheets/databases, and reporting on their researched finds. Former military aircraft maintainers, product support experience, experience with spare parts/provisioning/supply chain. This resource is not building out a database so the team is not looking for a programming engineer or product engineer.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex engineering data.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in project management and problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience in DMSMS and obsolescence management, preferably within the aerospace or defense industry.
- Familiarity with military aircraft systems and modification processes.
- Experience with risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance standards in the aerospace industry.
