The Systems Engineering Section Manager will manage a section of Systems Engineers reporting to the Department Manager on a 20% allocation. Responsibilities include direct supervision, Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) management, overseeing the IFC Responsible Engineer, Scrum Team Leads, and interface control documents, while maintaining the technical statement of work for the remaining 80% of the work week. The role also involves planning and program performance management, addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality across system or mission thread work packages, and acting as a Control Account Manager on large system development contracts.
EssentialFunctions
- Attends weekly flow down meetings with the Department Manager.
- Supports staffing needs as assigned.
- Conducts goal planning, performance evaluations, merit budgeting.
- Provides technical guidance related to process and training for staff.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 9 years of relevant engineering experience, or Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Recently demonstrated knowledge of Systems Engineering practices.
- Active DoW Top Secret clearance, or currently enrolled in continuous evaluation, with ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (PAR) access as required.
- Experience with IFC processes and milestones.
- Advanced STEM Degree.
- 5 years of experience with IFC development and management.
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Release Train Engineer training and experience.
- Experience running Planning Interval (PI) milestones using SAFe methodologies.
- Previous Systems Engineering leadership experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of Earn Value Management System (EVMS).
- Experience in the military aerospace development environment preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
Primary Level Salary Range: $131,800–$197,800. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and in certain positions Long Term Incentives. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off.
