Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Engineer Aeronautical / Engineer Aeronautical. This position will be located on-site at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in either Palmdale, CA or Oklahoma City, OK. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Vehicle Engineering group. In Vehicle Engineering, we develop manned and unmanned aircraft platforms for all programs in the Aeronautics Systems Sector.

This candidate will become part of a team supporting the Palmdale Aircraft Integration Center of Excellence (PAICoE) organization. Essential Functions The selected candidate will perform the following, including, but not limited to:
* Work in a high-paced team environment to support program goals and schedule.

* Develop solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives.

* Designs, develops, and tests a variety of aircraft parts, taking into consideration the most efficient use of the natural laws affecting flight.

* Establishes structural specifications, performs stress analysis, and conducts performance tests.

* Perform design and analysis for primary and secondary structures.

* Review completed analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.

* Evaluate as-built products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.

* Clearly communicate and coordinate with other disciplines during the development of design solutions.

* Present and explain structural issues and solutions to internal management and customer representatives concisely.

* Identify design errors or deficiencies and make recommendations for changes. This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Engineer Aeronautical (T01) or Engineer Aeronautical (T02). Basic Qualifications for an Associate Engineer Aeronautical (T01) A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
* Be completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution by December 2026.

* Be majoring in or having majored in:
Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering or a similar STEM degree.

* Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite). Final approved U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special Access may be required to start.

Basic Qualifications for an Engineer Aeronautical (T02) A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
* Be completing or has completed their Master's degree from an accredited institution by December 2026 or is completing their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of Aeronautical engineering experience (or similar engineering experience) by December 2026.
