Environmental, Operations and Construction (EOC) operates within HDR’s Federal Business Group, delivering services across all HDR business groups at any location. It delivers quality engineering, environmental, and construction management services at competitive prices.
Responsibilities- Provide electrical technical and engineering support in the design of building systems (Power, Lighting, Grounding, Lightning protection)
- Provide support in engineering evaluations and recommendations for improvements
- Provide in-depth assessments and cost estimates for electrical projects
- Design electrical systems based on the DOD/Tinker AFB specifications
- Provide technical reviews of Submittals, Requests for Information and internal design drawings
- Participates in final on-site inspections
- Support other disciplines as needed
- Provide support to the Damage Assessment Team (DAT) program
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
- Minimum 10 years of experience in general electrical design of buildings/infrastructure
- Knowledge of design for Department of Defense facilities
- Prior Department of Defense experience
- Knowledge of the Internal Building Code, NFPA Life Safety Code, ASCE 7, ACI Standards, AISC Standards, and Unified Facilities Criteria
- Be willing to submit to a background check
- Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule) and AutoCAD
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
- Previous experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems)
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license)
- Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI, and Easy Power
