Electrical Design Engineer
We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our engineering team supporting power generation and industrial facility projects. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting electrical systems for power plant and industrial applications, including power distribution, control systems, instrumentation, and equipment layouts. The ideal candidate will have experience creating engineering designs, specifications, calculations, and construction packages while collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.
Responsibilities- Design electrical systems for power generation, industrial, and utility projects.
- Develop electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and construction packages.
- Perform electrical load calculations, short-circuit studies, voltage drop calculations, and equipment sizing.
- Prepare project specifications, scopes of work, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate designs with mechanical, civil, structural, and instrumentation teams.
- Review vendor drawings, equipment submittals, and technical proposals.
- Support project execution through design reviews, field investigations, and construction support activities.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during installation and commissioning.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years of electrical design engineering experience in power generation, industrial, utility, or heavy industrial environments.
- Experience with electrical distribution systems, motor control centers (MCCs), transformers, switch gear, and control systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical.
- Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and other applicable electrical codes and standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Power plant, utility, refinery, or industrial facility experience.
- Experience with ETAP, SKM, Easy Power, or similar electrical analysis software.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification.
- Experience supporting capital projects, plant upgrades, or facility expansions.
