4) to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
A successful member of this team will understand and execute repairs, modifications, upgrades, and analysis for the Bombers (B-1 and/or B-52) programs.
Position Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance with methodology and processes for stress analysis, DaDT analysis, and finite element modelling in the accomplishment of work
- Performs Failsafe Analyses, durability life calculations, and determines Damage Tolerance for fracture critical parts
- Familiar with Single Flight Probability of Failure methods for determining fleet risk
- Verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the airframe structural environment, characteristics, and performance of the product
- Ensures USAF Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) requirements are met for airframe analysis and validation
- Calculates inspection intervals for fleet aircraft based upon calculated crack growth rates
- Develops and uses various Finite Element Models for crack growth coefficients
- Understands proper application of loads in FEMs
- Understands industry best practices in airframe primary structure and load paths
- Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
- Leads development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
- Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the analysis and repair efforts
- Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
- Supports in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements.
- Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the repair development effort.
- Leads repair development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design.
- Works under minimal direction.
The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Oklahoma City site.
