BDS is looking for Nondestructive Evaluation Engineers to join our team in Oklahoma City, OK. We are seeking a range of experience, including Mid‑Level and Lead level NDE Engineers.

The Midwest Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) and Fleet Support team is part of the BDS Engineering department. The team supports space, commercial, and defense air vehicle programs such as the 787, 777X, F‑15, F‑18, AV‑8B, T‑7A, T‑45, MQ‑25, KC‑46, P‑8, B‑52, B‑1, KC‑135, Executive Transport platforms, Commercial Crew Transportation, Space Launch, and weapon systems. Our team provides NDE engineering support for pre‑production, current production, and post‑production efforts.

We also deliver supplier stand‑up and certification, fabrication support/troubleshooting, and fleet support activities across the Boeing value stream. The team conducts NDE research and development for both internal and external customers. We are located in Huntsville, AL;
Oklahoma City, OK; and St. Louis, MO. The chosen candidate will support the Oklahoma City location.

Position Responsibilities
  • Apply nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods/approaches, such as acoustic, electromagnetic, thermal, optical and radiologic principles, in developing new and novel methods/approaches to address affordability and supportability objectives
  • Develop new sensor technology and testing systems for nondestructive evaluation (NDE) applied to manufacturing and support areas
  • Define requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and maintenance of products and approve their use
  • Lead development of specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes
  • Maintain compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations
  • Evaluate emerging technologies for potential application to address business needs
  • Lead development, validation and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements
  • Manage test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements
  • Use project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements
  • Incorporate environmental health and safety, LEAN and quality principles into materials and processes, research, design and qualification, work procedures and labs and office areas
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and customer requirements (ASNT, ASTM, AWS, ASME, ISO, etc.)
  • Support audits, root cause analyses, and failure investigations as a subject matter expert
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians
  • Support the Team Lead and define strategies and provide consultation as needed
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to travel 10% of the time minimum.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Oklahoma City.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post‑Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non‑U.S. equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience in NDE/NDT engineering in a regulated industry (e.g., aerospace, defense, energy)
