Team Lead, Public Works - Oklahoma City, OK!

Halff has an immediate opening for a Public Works Team Lead (P.E.) to work from our Oklahoma City, OK office. The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of hands‑on, proven experience in public works, municipal roadway, land development, drainage, detention, water/wastewater utility design, and/or utilities design. The selected individual will be responsible for the growth and success of Public Works design, planning and related services within the area, including team management and performance, business development, client relationships, and project delivery.

This position will have a large amount of autonomy in managing other professional engineers, engineers‑in‑training, and CAD designers. This position requires strong design and project management experience and knowledge of working with local entities. Projects include, yet not limited to, roadways, drainage systems, water and wastewater pipelines, civil site work and associated civil improvements in land development as well as public parks and trails facilities.

What you will do:
  • Responsible for managing, developing, and overseeing public works in Oklahoma.
  • Work collaboratively with other local teams.
  • Manage team performance (production, profitability, quality, staffing, etc.)
  • Maintain and further develop client relationships throughout Oklahoma including multiple cities and counties.
  • Identify business opportunities and lead the successful pursuit.
  • Directly manage projects and oversee project managers on various projects.
  • Value and be active in professional organizations that benefit the Public Works industry.
  • Work closely with other Halff leaders and manage resources to successfully workshare across the company on multiple projects.
What you will need:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in Oklahoma, or transferable within 2 months.
  • 15+ years of experience in utility and public works design.
  • Strong business relationships and passion for growth and development.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred.
  • Good technical writing and communication skills.
  • Experience in project scope development, professional services fee development and staffing projections.
  • Experience in producing winning project proposals as lead professional/project manager.
  • Strong ability to train and mentor staff.

    Must be proficient in project management, administration, and supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with multiple offices and various disciplines.
  • Positive attitude, self‑directed.
  • Additional experience in Transportation and/or Land Development preferred.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
