Senior Principal Engineer – Material Processes
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is hiring a Senior Principal Engineer – Material Processes for its Oklahoma City, OK location.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze, research, and develop materials and their related application processes for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems.
- Apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material science to investigate material issues and provide solutions.
- Work in a team environment with other engineering organization performing detailed technical reviews of drawings, specifications and manufacturing plans.
- Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance and a Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with at least 8 years of related engineering experience, or Master’s degree with at least 6 years, or PhD with at least 4 years.
- Familiarity with composite pre‑pregs, honeycombs, and adhesive materials; fabrication, assembly, and repair processes for aircraft composite structures; familiarity with metallic materials and processes.
- Experience working on military aircraft.
- Experience preparing and presenting oral and written reports.
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science.
- Experience with material obsolescence issues and qualifying materials.
- Experience with LO materials.
Primary Level Salary Range: $ – $. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay.
