Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) Engineer to join the Engineering Support Team at the U.S. Air Force Depot located at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In this role, you will serve as Pratt & Whitney's on‑site engineering liaison, partnering directly with our U.S. Air Force customer to provide technical support for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of Mechanical Systems and Externals hardware across the F135, F119, F100, TF33, and J52 engine programs.
As a key member of the engineering team, you will help ensure fleet readiness by resolving technical issues, supporting depot operations, and collaborating with both customer and internal stakeholders to deliver effective engineering solutions. This is a first‑shift, onsite position based at Tinker Air Force Base.
- Serve as an active member of the Engine Life Management Team by supporting hardware life management activities, technical updates, ACIs, and DEEP Look assessments to ensure fleet readiness.
- Drive hardware recovery by evaluating service limits, processing deviation requests, and developing repair solutions that maximize component availability and reduce replacement costs.
- Review, disposition, and resolve Material Review Board hardware issues while supporting Component Improvement Program initiatives to enhance product reliability and maintainability.
- Lead onsite engineering support for engine and hardware investigations, partnering with Customer Support Engineering and depot personnel to resolve technical and quality issues efficiently.
- Serve as the primary onsite engineering liaison between Component Integrated Product Teams, site leadership, and U.S. Air Force customers, ensuring timely communication and coordinated technical solutions.
- Present technical analyses, recommendations, and investigation results to engineering leadership and customer representatives, enabling informed decision‑making and successful program execution.
- Investigate complex hardware issues, develop engineering solutions, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve engine reliability, maintainability, and fleet availability.
- Travel: 10% (Domestic and International).
- Develop expertise in military engine sustainment and fleet readiness.
- Gain hands‑on experience supporting F135, F119, F100, TF33, and J52 propulsion systems.
- Learn hardware recovery strategies, repair solutions, and engineering disposition processes.
- Build customer‑facing engineering and technical leadership skills.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of experience in engineering, or an Advanced degree in a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- Knowledge of gas turbine engines and experience supporting engine hardware, including engineering changes, hardware dispositions, limit expansions, and technical analyses.
