Manufacturing Engineer
Relate Search has partnered with an organization seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and improve manufacturing processes, analyze production data, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role will create and maintain manufacturing process data in Oracle, including routers and structured bills of materials, while reviewing costing and time data to improve manufacturing performance. The position will also support process standardization, quality improvements, and LEAN manufacturing initiatives across the shop environment.
Responsibilities- Develop and improve cost-effective manufacturing processes by evaluating product requirements, conducting time studies and costing reviews, and optimizing workflow, space requirements, equipment layout, and routing.
- Create and maintain manufacturing routers and process data in Oracle, and review Engineering Change Orders that impact inventory, product life cycle, or obsolescence.
- Lead implementation of LEAN manufacturing processes and Six Sigma tools, including standardized work instructions, line balancing, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen/5S, pull processes, TPM, cell design, and changeover or batch-size optimization.
- Partner with quality and manufacturing teams to investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and establish testing and inspection methods.
- Develop manufacturing KPIs, metrics, reports, and cost analyses while supporting process compliance, equipment operability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, including Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or related experience.
- Previous manufacturing experience; experience with oil and gas equipment is preferred.
- Previous Oracle experience, with additional computer skills including MS Office, MS Project, SAP, Solid Works, and CAD.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead, work independently, and build effective relationships with employees, contractors, and vendors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and willingness to travel.
Physical Requirements
- Work includes an office environment with exposure to a shop environment that may not have air conditioning.
- Frequent handling/fingering and frequent lifting or carrying of 10 pounds or less.
- Occasional standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, crawling, squatting or kneeling, and bending.
- Occasional lifting or carrying of 11–50 pounds and occasional pushing or pulling of 13–40 pounds.
- Role involves care of materials, experimental products, standard office equipment, and shop and test equipment.
