Deatsch Werks is looking for a motivated and energetic individual to join our Product Development Team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a demonstrated ability utilizing 3D CAD software. Must have a good understanding of automotive fuel systems, electronics, and mechanical systems. Background in vehicle modification and building preferred.
Job Description:Develop, evaluate, and design fuel system components, machined parts, and complex assemblies to meet Performance and Manufacturing requirements;
Manage projects from Inception to Sale. Provide product technical support to end users as well as internal Production and Supply Chain Teams.
- Develop products for High Performance automotive vehicle use, including some or all of the following
- Fuel pumps, modules, injectors, wire harnesses, lines & fittings, regulators, and filters - Build and maintain complex product assemblies in CAD
- Produce 2D drawings for manufacturing partners and outside suppliers
- Write, manage, and execute Test Plans to ensure proper evaluation of assigned projects
- Collect & analyze test data and determine intelligent conclusions
- Work collaboratively with Marketing, Sales, Production, and Supply Chain to deliver new products on time and on budget
- Maintain and follow all procedures related to the Product Development Process for assigned projects
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience
- Min. 10 years' experience in designing mechanical and electrical components
- Competent with a major brand of 3D CAD software (SOLIDWORKS desired)
- Willingness to keep an open mind, learn new skills, and work in an agile and collaborative environment
- Strong personal knowledge of automotive systems (desired)
- Career experience in the automotive aftermarket industry (desired)
- Strong understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical system fundamentals (desired)
