POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Manager, Energy Marketing is responsible for supporting and executing natural gas marketing activities across the Midcon Basin, including transaction execution, transportation optimization, commercial negotiations, position management, scheduling & scheduling oversight, market analysis, and counter party relationship management. This role owns and supports the commercial lifecycle from market strategy and deal execution through scheduling, settlement, and financial performance. Depending on candidate experience and organizational needs, the position may operate as an individual contributor or evolve into a leadership role with responsibility for commercial personnel and marketing strategy.
The role requires strong commercial instincts, analytical capability, market awareness, relationship management skills, and a willingness to work across front-, middle-, and back-office commercial functions.
Gas Marketing & Commercial Execution
- Market natural gas production across Midcon supply basins.
- Manage Midstream relationships.
- Negotiate and administer gas purchase, transportation, gathering, processing, and sales agreements.
- Evaluate commercial opportunities to maximize realized pricing and asset value.
- Support acquisition evaluations and commercial integration activities.
- Monitor daily and monthly gas positions.
- Manage transportation capacity utilization and optimization opportunities.
- Identify basis, transportation, and market arbitrage opportunities.
- Support hedging, risk management, and market analysis activities.
- Develop strategies to maximize netback values and commercial profitability.
- Partner closely with scheduling and operations teams to ensure successful transaction execution.
- Resolve pipeline, nomination, imbalance, and operational issues.
- Maintain awareness of operational constraints impacting commercial performance.
- Coordinate commercial activities across gathering, processing, transportation, and sales functions.
- Ensure transactions flow accurately from contract execution through settlement.
- Partner with accounting and settlements teams to resolve pricing, invoicing, and payment issues.
- Monitor contract compliance and commercial performance.
