Johnson Service Group is looking for a contract Aircraft Tool Designer to work in OKC, OK location. Aircraft Tool Designer - This will be an open-ended contract. Looking for tool designers that have actual experience with mold design for composite parts. Tool Designer job typically involves designing and creating fixtures and tooling to meet quality, cost, and schedule objectives. This may include designing shelters and mechanical modifications, reviewing customer requirements, and supporting the engineering design team.
The designer also works with various departments to resolve issues and contribute to product improvement.
Need Catia V5 proficiency and Smarteam PLM a plus. Tooling for composite parts; lamination molds, drill jigs, trim fixtures, CNC machining fixtures, and assembly
Education:
Bachelor's or higher degree in a relevant engineering field, or an associate degree with experience.
Experience:
Prior experience in a related field, such as mechanical design or tooling engineering, is often preferred.

Design and DevelopmentDevelop, design, and/or create fixtures, tooling, and related equipment.
Review and AnalysisReview customer requirements, specifications, and interface drawings to ensure contract compliance.
CAD ModelingUtilise 3D CAD software to create and maintain models and associated 2D drawings.
DocumentationPrepare and update task lists, and create project documentation and production-required assets.
CollaborationInterface with other departments, including sales, engineering, and vendors, to resolve issues and questions.
Problem SolvingIdentify and resolve vendor issues and defective material dispositions.
Continuous ImprovementContribute to product improvement, new product development, and product standardization.
Technical ExpertiseApply knowledge of relevant standards, codes, and regulations to the design process.
Skills and QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor's or higher degree in a relevant engineering field, or an associate degree with experience.

Proficient in 3D CAD software and experience generating manufacturing prints.

Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with various teams.

Ability to analyze and resolve design issues and challenges.
