Position

Summary

The Senior Geophysicist provides subsurface technical expertise across the full asset lifecycle at Warwick — from acquisition due diligence and reserve evaluation (including both exploration-based leasing and marketed deals) through well planning, drilling support, and ongoing field development. This role works closely with the investment team on deal evaluation and with the engineering and operations teams on active drilling programs, serving as a key technical resource for capital allocation and field development decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead seismic and subsurface interpretation (structural, strati graphic, attribute, amplitude, and inversion analysis) to identify and de-risk drilling locations and evaluate prospective acquisitions.
  • Partner with the investment team on technical due diligence for oil and gas acquisitions and divestitures, including reserve and resource assessment, geologic risking, seismic licensing or acquisition needs, and identification of technical red flags.
  • Support well planning and real-time geosteering for active drilling operations coordinating closely with the Operations Geologist and also drilling and completions engineers.
  • Integrate petrophysical and engineering data with geophysical interpretation to build and maintain subsurface and structural models.
  • Manage relationships with seismic data vendors, processing contractors, and third-party consultants; scope and oversee seismic acquisition, reprocessing, and other contracted geophysical projects as needed.
  • Prepare and present technical findings, risk assessments, and recommendations to the investment committee and senior leadership to support capital allocation decisions.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior geoscientists and cross-functional team members.
  • Maintain and continuously improve subsurface databases, mapping projects, and interpretation of workflows.
