Responsibilities
- Accountable for successful day-to-day operations for Coiled Tubing Directional Drilling projects.
- Responsible for operation of equipment and troubleshooting problems that occur occasionally.
- Perform pre-job preparation, mobilization, rig up, onsite operations, rig down, onsite maintenance, safety, environmental assurance, demobilization, and post-job inventories and maintenance.
- Safely and dependably care for, deploy, and retrieve bottom hole assembly (BHA) components at job sites.
- Repair, maintain, and test directional drilling/measuring/logging tool components and assemblies in shop and field environments.
- Observe BHA feedback during operation to make careful adjustments and optimize performance.
- Operate data acquisition systems with both depth-based and time-based logs.
- Generate, analyze, and prepare accurate well plan proposals, survey reports, project status reports, change orders, and other deliverables.
- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate project technical and management aspects.
- Provide extensive regular contact with assigned project internal and external clients.
- Assist in preparing project proposals and quotes.
- Participate in client meetings and resolve client/engineering and management project issues.
- Review and approve project client invoices.
- Ensure effective client communications.
- Monitor budgets.
- Analyze customer needs and use engineering tools/resources to provide safe and effective recommendations/solutions.
- Train personnel in new or modified software or equipment.
- Develop and implement new and/or unique solutions to problems presented.
- Understand and perform pre-job and post-job inspections.
- Answer questions raised by customers and colleagues and take follow-up action when necessary.
- Follow manager's guidance concerning all Coiled Tubing Directional Drilling related operations.
- Ensure all equipment assigned is properly functioning and all applicable procedures and tests are conducted in compliance with company standards.
- Evaluate issues raised by management and exercise independent judgment to determine protocols for implementing changes when necessary.
- Identify and implement operational efficiencies and improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
