Site Attendant

Tishomingo, OK | Culture and Humanities | Full Time

We are currently looking for a Full Time Site Attendant to join our Area of Museums and Historic Sites team located at the Bank of the Chickasaw Nation Museum working.

This position will work with the division of Heritage Preservation, Cultural Enhancement area at the Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge in Tishomingo, OK. The site attendant is responsible for becoming well versed in the history of Washita Farms, environmental and conservation topics, performing manual labor assignments to help the facilities and staff, accommodate everyday operations and special events in all indoor and outdoor areas of the Refuge.

• Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency
• Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities
• Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types
• Maintains a clean, organized work area and ensures a safe environment
• Maintains and promotes professionalism
• Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics
• Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards
• Maintains knowledge of and follows all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for assigned area
• Performs all other duties as assigned
• Responsible for opening and closing the Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge
• Meet and greets visitors who visit the Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge
• Provides information about Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge in person and via phone and directs to the proper area as needed
• Provide minor clerical and administrative support tasks, i.e., folding brochures, making copies, etc.
• Rove refuge trails to interact with visitors, collect litter and monitor road counters
• Assists with exhibit designs for the Washita Farms Heritage Center
• Assist with research and capturing wildlife through photography
• Assist with special events as directed
• Provide pre-designed tours of the visitor center and Washita Farm Heritage Center
• Assists with preserving, conserving, and storing of collections within the Washita Farm Heritage Center
• Maintains the Washita Farm Heritage Center collection inventory files
• May be called upon to assist at the Chickasaw Bank Museum to provide office coverage, tours, assist with activities and special events
• Attend Chickasaw Nation training, meetings, festivals, and teambuilding activities
• Expectations are that employee will take initiative and request additional assignments upon completion of tasks so that a steady workflow is maintained throughout the workday

• Knowledge of Chickasaw history and culture

• Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management

• 1 year directly related experience

• High School, GED or Equivalent

• Standard Driver's License
• Pass general background check

• Pass pre-employment drug test
• Mix of office/non-office settings
• Standing up to 50% of shift
• Walking up to 50% of shift
