Summary
:
Performs all aspects of the Accounts Payables function by performing the following duties.
- Review incoming invoices for pricing errors and prepare for payment.
- Verify legitimacy of the billing by matching invoices to purchase orders, packing slips, check requests, and the open receiver report; when necessary, obtain authorization for payment and ensure expenditures are charged to the appropriate account.
- Set each vendor invoice up for payment using full advantage of vendor payment terms.
- Investigate Purchase Price Variances; reclassify differences to Other Payables for financial statement presentation purposes.
- Payables are reviewed and coded for posting; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Responsible for development and adherence to the policies, procedures and instructions of the QS 9000 and MS 9000 systems.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
- Special projects, as assigned.

Education and/or ExperienceOne to two years of related experience and/or training; some upper education desired.
Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical DemandsRequired to sit and talk or hear regularly; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; occasionally stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms; lift or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
