The Income Tax Analyst II position is an experienced level position responsible for supporting more complex aspects of tax compliance and research functions for the Love families and affiliated companies. This includes preparing medium complexity income tax returns for flow-through businesses, trusts and individuals. Preparing and filing quarterly estimated payments and responding to tax notices with little supervision. The position requires an understanding of tax law, independent tax research, and identifying tax savings opportunities, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Job Functions:
* Compile and analyze financial data to identify book tax differences to support tax filings
* Prepare medium difficulty income tax returns as well as quarterly estimates as needed
* Respond to IRS and state income tax notices
* Review fixed assets for tax purposes (assure proper tax life and method selected, maximize annual depreciation or deduction)
* Identify tax savings opportunities throughout the tax return process, including state income tax and credit research
* Contribute to process improvement and efficiencies across the tax function
* Take responsibility of special projects and other tasks assigned
Education and
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (or equivalent professional degree)
* CPA licensed in Oklahoma or CPA candidate in Oklahoma
* 2+ years public or corporate tax experience
Skills and Physical Demands:
* Hard
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, strong understanding of US Income Tax law and GAAP requirements, and possess the ability to learn new software applications, particularly tax preparation software
* Soft Skills:
Strong oral and written communication skills, keen attention to detail, team player, ability to work independently and deal with confidential information, ability to work long hours as needed especially during spring and fall tax preparation
* Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
* Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
* Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
* Requires normal range of hearing and vision
* Possible evening/weekend work
