Personal Banking Associate
POSITION SUMMARY
This role provides front-line support across both teller operations and personal banking services in a high-volume financial institution. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service while driving business growth through relationship-building, product recommendations, and seamless transaction processing. The position requires a friendly, goal-oriented individual who thrives in a customer-centric and fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES- Deliver a welcoming, personalized experience to customers through in-person service and product guidance.
- Assist clients with deposits, withdrawals, and loan application processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with bank procedures.
- Open and maintain checking, savings, and loan accounts while advising clients on suitable financial products.
- Manage cash drawers with accuracy and efficiency, following internal controls and balancing procedures.
- Handle transaction processing in a timely manner while resolving discrepancies and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Cultivate client relationships by identifying financial needs and referring appropriate products or services.
- Support business development by initiating contact with prospective clients through referrals and networking.
- Respond to customer questions or concerns with professionalism and timely follow-up.
- Collaborate with banking center staff to meet team goals and maintain smooth branch operations.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- At least 1 year of sales experience in a goal-driven or service-based setting, with a proven track record of exceeding performance targets.
- Minimum of 6 months handling cash or operating a Point of Sale system in retail, hospitality, or similar environments.
- Willingness to obtain Notary Public credentials (bank-sponsored).
- Demonstrated ability to build local relationships and drive referrals through community engagement.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment.
- High ethical standards, attention to detail, and strong work discipline.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Positive, engaging personality with confidence and enthusiasm in client interactions.
- Prior banking or financial services experience with a working knowledge of account types and financial products.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish (verbal and written) is highly desirable.
- Regular hours:
Monday–Friday, 7:15 a.m. – 6:15 p.m.;
Saturday, 8:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. - Flexibility required for rotating Saturdays and occasional weekends.
Salary range for this position is $18-$19 / HR, depending on background and experience.
