Job Summary
The Banking Supervisor in the Business Operations division provides leadership to the banking staff and ensures all banking processes and services run smoothly. The role includes handling cash and various payment transactions, monitoring inventory, reporting technical issues, and supervising staff.
Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate cashier and analyst activities to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate cashiers and analysts, providing guidance and performance feedback.
- Ensure daily reconciliation of banking records matches cash and payment transactions.
- Assist banking staff in conducting timely research.
- Maintain bank records and taxpayer accounts in One Link.
- Oversee credit card reconciliations, process chargebacks, handle disputes, and suspended payment applications.
- Collaborate with the State Treasurer’s Office, credit card vendor, and the State’s bank to ensure all payment and reversal files are received.
- Escalate issues to the IT team or other staff to resolve issues and meet daily deadlines.
- Provide taxpayers with correct wire or addenda information for electronic payments.
- Assist taxpayers and division personnel via phone, email, or web notices.
- Assess and maintain internal control procedures.
- Respond to internal and external audit requests.
- Maintain banking procedures and communicate changes to staff.
- Oversee processing documentation for system changes; test scenarios and update procedures for banking section.
- Process contracts and specifications for various inventory types.
- Implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in banking and cashier operations.
- Perform all other related duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and banking systems.
- Familiarity with modern office methods, procedures, and accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and time‑management skills.
- Problem‑solving and research capabilities.
- Mathematical proficiency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and common accounting databases.
- Technical fluency in commonly used software and ability to acquire new skills quickly.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capacity to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage multiple assignments.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management, public administration, or a closely related field.
- Three (3) years of professional experience in auditing, accounting, or banking services.
- One (1) year of supervisory experience.
- Five (5) or more years of professional experience in auditing, accounting, or a closely related field.
- Strong banking background.
- Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience.
The position requires sitting and standing for extended periods, using a computer, keyboard, and other office equipment, reading printed material, hearing and understanding normal speech, and lifting up to 15 pounds. The office environment has a moderate noise level.
Special RequirementsNormal work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with minor flexibility. The primary location is on‑site at the Oklahoma Tax Commission; occasional telework may be requested.
SalaryUSD 75,881.
