POSITION DESCRIPTION

Title:

Bi-Lingual Mortgage Loan Processor

The Bi-Lingual Mortgage Loan Processor plays a crucial role in processing a diverse range of first, second, and ITIN mortgage loan products, catering specifically to the unique financial needs and goals of WEOKIE members and non-members. Fluent in both English and Spanish, they provide expert guidance, ensuring exceptional service that turns clients into raving fans.

Responsibilities
  • Regular attendance in the work site.
  • Responsible for collecting/reviewing/ and uploading all required documents for first, second, and ITIN mortgage loans and processing in a timely manner.
  • Verify and examine all documents and information input into the Loan Origination System for accuracy and compliance.
  • Communicate with all parties involved concerning required documents, loan milestones, loan conditions, etc.
  • Responsible for ordering and reviewing all third party items such as appraisals, title commitments, flood determination, evidence of insurance, verification of employment, and verification of income.
  • Required to effectively manage processing pipeline and give weekly updates to all parties involved in the transaction.
  • Ensures all QC and underwriting conditions have been resolved prior to loan closing.
  • Responsible for delivery of completed processing files to the closing team within 5 business days.
  • Assists with scheduling and coordination of closings with borrower, agents, and title providers as needed.
  • Participates in regular coaching and performance evaluations.
  • Reports any issues to leadership to ensure member impact is minimal and risk mitigation.
  • Learns and uses various in-house technical systems and programs to streamline the process and reporting requirements. Documents all efforts in assurance to members' loan closings.
  • Maintains an active knowledge base of all loan products and an understanding of the qualifications required for each applicant. Maintains knowledge of and adherence to loan level compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain individual mortgage licensing (NMLS) and continuing education requirements to comply with federal and state guidelines relative to the position. Ensures proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operating controls to leadership to ensure member impact and risk is mitigated.

  • Specialized or Technical Knowledge and Skills
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Demonstrate ability to analyze credit reports, automated underwriting decisions, and title commitments, purchase agreements, and other mortgage related documents including the preparation of mortgage disclosure packages.
  • Demonstrate ability to learn and use the necessary software to complete job functions, especially mortgage loan origination processing systems, along with third party websites.
  • Knowledge of conventional and Fannie Mae loan products and guidelines.
  • Excellent phone etiquette.
  • Demonstrate ability to learn and adhere to federal and state regulations/laws as they pertain to mortgage lending.
  • Maintain all required NMLS and SAFE Act licensing requirements, including:
    • a) Annual attestation and NMLS account review
    • b) Compliance with all internal SAFE Act Audits
    • c) Minimum of one SAFE Act training course per year
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Email.
