Position: Pre-Collect Clerk (Business Office)
DEFINITION:

Verifies all insurance benefits and pre-collects for all surgeries and braces. The Clerk calculates insurance allowables. Calculates patient financial obligations, contacts them to discuss all financial responsibilities for upfront payments and completes financial agreements as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent GED and one year of related experience and/or training. May substitute equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to compute rate and percents. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office and other database systems. Knowledge of health insurance plans.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

Experience in Medical Business Office setting
