Accounts Receivable Specialist

• Manage assigned accounts ensuring outstanding claims are paid promptly for maximum reimbursement
• Request reprocessing of claims or prepare and submit corrected claims to insurance companies
• Follow up on all outstanding insurance claims within 30 days of service
• Review credit balance accounts for refund requests and misapplied payments
• Communicate denial trends with the Revenue Cycle Manager

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two years of medical accounts receivable experience
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines, including HMO/PPO, Medicare, and Medicaid
• Ability to comply with state and federal regulations and company policies
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle difficult situations professionally

• Medical billing certification, if available
• Experience in creating and implementing process improvements in a revenue cycle environment
• Familiarity with patient care best practices and interventions
