Must-Have:
- Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty.
OR
- Graduate of a JRCERT accredited educational program with emphasis in a radiologic technology specialty.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Ability to be sensitive to patients' physical and psychological needs.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes.
- Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information and sound judgment.
- Must be able to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Core knowledge and understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology.
Description:
Under supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, the position works to achieve initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations.
The purpose is to aid medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases.
Utilizing entry-level knowledge, abilities, and skills, the technologist provides safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services under routine or emergent conditions in various care settings.
The technologist prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians.
Effective communication and collaboration with patients, families, and members of the multidisciplinary care team are vital to achieving desired clinical outcomes, operational goals, and service expectations.
Using a variety of highly specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques, the technologist performs a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures in accordance with established scope of practice guidelines.
Post-procedure reviews are conducted to confirm all required elements are completed, documented, and that technical quality meets established department protocols and accreditation standards.
The technologist transfers images and data to the appropriate archival systems, enters technical data/findings, and prepares studies for reporting by a physician.
Operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, and high-level disinfecting are performed per manufacturer instructions and regulatory guidelines.
Participation in continuing education, professional development, and research activities maintains competencies and promotes continuous improvements in care and treatments.
This role requires the ability to work with minimum supervision and demonstrate attention to detail.
