Pay range: $21.34+ per hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, and education. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

As the Phlebotomist III Site Lead you represent the face of Quest Diagnostics to patients who come for routine or specialized health decisions. You will draw quality blood samples, prepare specimens for lab testing, and create a trusting atmosphere while explaining procedures. You will direct daily activity at a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In‑Office Phlebotomy (IOP), lead multiple PSRs, and provide coaching, mentoring, and onboarding services to new staff.
You will also be the point of contact for on‑site staff, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and handle multiple priorities in a high‑volume setting.
- Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
- Administer oral solutions according to established training.
- Research test/client information and confirm all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems.
- Complete all data entry requirements accurately, including patient registration, test order entry, and standing orders.
- Enter billing information and collect payments when required, safeguarding assets and credit card information.
- Process specimens, labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required by test orders.
- Perform departmental clerical duties such as inventory, stock supplies, and answering phones as needed.
- Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures, and ensure all staff follow these instructions.
- Verify patient demographic information, initials, and signature post‑venipuncture to confirm correct labeling.
- Assist with compilation and submission of monthly statistics and data.
- Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner, including maintenance and temperature logs.
- Complete training courses and stay up‑to‑date with latest phlebotomy techniques.
- Travel to Territory Manager meetings if held off‑site or off‑normal shift.
- Participate in special projects and teams.
- Stay up‑to‑date on company communications and help distribute technical information to the work group.
- Perform Point of Care (POC) testing at those sites where needed and complete all required competency evaluations.
- Act as a mentor and resource for new employees, assisting with transition into the PSC work environment.
- Assist with periodic inventory counts, reporting shortages and problems to group leader or supervisor.
- Assist with preparation of schedules for the assigned workgroup or PSCs.
- Communicate professionally with clients to resolve or refer problems, and document critical issues as they occur.
- Ensure staff follows safety precautions by wearing clean lab coats, gloves, and face shields when required.
- Assist supervisors with implementing SOPs and distributing technical information in accordance with Quest Diagnostics guidelines.
