Experience:
- Performs all aspects of sleep recordings according to departmental policy and in a professional and personalized manner.
- Obtains and documents a general history from all patients, which includes a diagnosis and medications.
- Prepares patients and applies electrodes using the international 10-20 system within 30 minutes.
- Recognizes artifacts on recording and attempts to eliminate them.
- Completes sleep records according to department policy and procedures ensuring accurate data collection.
- Recognizes and corrects malfunctions of equipment to provide optimal test results.
- Communicates effectively with patients regarding expectations and requirements to complete testing.
- Completes and forwards data to appropriate personnel at the end of each study.
- Recognizes, monitors, and/or eliminates artifacts such as high-impedance leads, muscle artifacts, eye movements, respiration artifacts, and/or EKG to obtain adequate tests.
- Assures proper documentation of procedures with effective communication to patients and staff.
Description:
This position involves performing sleep recordings in accordance with established departmental policies.
Candidates will be responsible for obtaining thorough patient histories and preparing patients for testing.
The role requires knowledge of electrode application techniques and the ability to identify and correct recording artifacts.
Strong communication skills are essential to inform patients about the testing process and to ensure data is accurately recorded and reported.
