, you will lead sensitive investigations, coach leaders and HR partners, interpret policy, and help shape a fair, consistent, and people‑centered culture across SSM Health. You’ll apply strong ER expertise while partnering closely with leaders and Legal to mitigate risk and strengthen engagement.

This hybrid role (3 days onsite per week at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City) is perfect for someone who excels at solving complex issues, influencing decision‑makers, and improving policies and practices through data and insight.

Job Summary

Provides employee relations support and counsel to SSM business operators, Human Resources (HR) partners and People Services on a variety of complex employee and labor relations issues. Applies deep subject matter expertise and influence to help business partners identify and meet needs of the business, while also considering cultural and people implications.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provides employee relations training, guiding, and coaching for Human Resources, People Services and SSM business operators.
  • Provides strategic and tactical solutions to address complex employee relations issues.
  • Solves complex employee relations issues, while also proactively identifying gaps and trends in policies and practices to improve employee relations. Ensures compliance with policies, legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Articulates and interprets policies and procedures to business and HR operators.
  • Supports the development and implementation of system-wide programs, training programs, initiatives, and communications.
  • Trains, coaches and guides business and HR partners.
  • Supports all aspects of administrative charges and complaints by the state(s) and federal agencies against SSM.
  • Collects and analyzes data to prepare periodic and ad-hoc reports for business operators and HR partners.
  • Collaborates and coordinates as necessary with HR market team and centers of expertise.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
Experience
  • Four years’ experience in Human Resources or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience conducting complex employee relations investigations, including harassment, discrimination, and policy‑related cases.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with leaders and Legal to navigate sensitive issues and mitigate organizational risk.
  • Background in healthcare preferred
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with the ability to coach, and guide leaders and HR partners.
  • Demonstrated skill in interpreting and applying policies, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience identifying trends, recommending solutions, and improving ER practices through data analysis and insights.
  • Ability to thrive in a mission‑driven, relationship‑focused culture.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City).
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.
