Work Setting: State Government

Bring Your HR Skills to Work That Matters

Ready to level up your HR career in a role with real impact
? As an HR Generalist
, you’ll be part of the team that keeps essential public services running—by supporting employees, strengthening compliance, and making HR operations smooth, accurate, and people-focused.

If you’re the kind of HR professional who is reliable, punctual, and detail-obsessed (in the best way)—this is your lane.

What You’ll Jump Into

In this hands-on role, you’ll support key HR functions that keep the employee experience running strong:

  • Be a go-to HR partner for employees and leaders—answering questions and guiding them through policies and procedures
  • Support onboarding and employee lifecycle processes (new hires, changes, transfers, separations)
  • Provide accurate information on state and federal laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to recruitment, benefits, FMLA, and shared leave.
  • Perform agency recruitment tasks; prepare recruiting announcements, schedule interviews, complete background check forms, send rejection letters and other information concerning job vacancies.
  • Maintain accurate HR documentation and records with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and confidentiality
  • Assist with HR processes tied to attendance policies and timekeeping expectations
  • Provide employee badge administration
  • Help coordinate benefits support and routine HR administrative tasks
  • Partner with leadership on employee relations items and day-to-day HR support
  • Payroll processing support is a plus (especially if you’ve helped with time entry, audits, or payroll coordination)
What Success Looks Like in This Role

This is a role where reliability and precision really shine. The best fit will bring:

  • 2–3 years of HR experience (HR Generalist, HR Specialist, HR Coordinator—anything hands-on and HR operations focused)
  • A reputation for being dependable and consistent
—including strong adherence to attendance expectations
  • Strong attention to detail (you catch what others miss)
  • Confidence working with policies, documentation, and confidential information
  • Great communication skills and a service mindset—calm, professional, and helpful
  • Bonus points if you have experience supporting payroll processing
    , timekeeping, or HR systems
Why You’ll Love It Here
  • A predictable, stable schedule: M–F 8:00–4:30
  • Mission-driven work that supports the people who support the public
  • An HR role where your organization, follow-through, and accuracy are truly valued
  • A chance to build solid HR experience in a structured environment with clear expectations
