Description
The National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC) Division of the Leidos Fed Civ IT Business Area has an opening for a Technical Writer. The role will support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Oklahoma City at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC).
Primary Responsibilities- Support timely, accurate, relevant analytical production, including documents, summaries, issue papers, talking points, and briefings.
- Gather requirements, perform research, compile information, prioritize and collate, draft, edit, and produce high‑quality documentation that satisfies customer needs with minimal follow‑on work.
- Work in a fast‑paced collaborative environment, proactively multi‑task and meet short deadlines while demonstrating excellent writing and grammatical skills.
- Communicate complex and technical data to non‑technical consumers with clear, concise language.
- Write and edit technical documents, reports, whitepapers, training modules, and other documentation.
- BS degree with 4‑8 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 2‑6 years of experience. Additional experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
- Good understanding of principles, standards, and best practices of written communication.
- Ability to work independently and ensure documents meet governmental standards while collaborating with team members and customers.
- Strong communication skills essential to positively influence customer perception of the team’s professionalism and performance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain FAA Public Trust Suitability.
