The Role
As an IT Support Engineer I, you will use your knowledge and specialized skills to implement technical solutions and provide high‑quality support for computer hardware, operating systems, or enterprise application software across sites in a defined geographical area. You will decide when it is appropriate to deviate from standard practice to accomplish the desired result, troubleshooting and solving straightforward problems that lack defined SOPs.
Key Job Responsibilities- Network engineering and troubleshooting, data cabling, and systems administration in diverse software and hardware environments.
- Ensuring infrastructure networking and computing systems remain available during production hours.
- Providing analytical and technical assistance to management and staff for continuous improvement of IT solutions.
- Managing local technical projects.
- Maintaining or creating policies, procedures, and processes.
- Identifying root causes of operational issues and process inefficiencies.
- Handling up to 49 lbs and standing or walking during shifts of up to 12 hours.
- Supporting customers from multiple buildings in the area and remote customers.
- Traveling within the local or regional area to support our customers.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of professional experience.
- 2+ years of troubleshooting in a multi‑user, high‑availability environment.
- 2+ years of networking experience (DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, TCP/IP).
- 2+ years of PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation experience.
- 1+ year of IT client, server, and network service delivery experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Fluency in Cisco/networking and either Linux or Microsoft operating systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Red Hat), Microsoft hardware, AWS, or equivalent.
- Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance.
- Experience communicating technical concepts and processes using clear, simple language and visuals.
- Experience managing multiple projects, prioritizing, planning, and managing time.
- Experience in oral and written communication in English.
- Proven ability to work successfully with limited supervision.
